Half face respirator, takes twin filters (see RESP13 & RESP14). AS/NZS 1715:1994 provides a basis for the selection of approved (tested respirators, training in use, check for fit and provides for the care and maintenance of equipment to help ensure an effective respiratory program is in place. The most commonly used respirator is of the type that purifies the air and are called AIR PURIFYING RESPIRATORS – ARP's (including disposables, moulded face pieces with filters and canisters or battery powered units with filters and canisters). To use ARP's within the guidelines there must be a minimum of 19.5% oxygen in the air, the contaminant must be filterable and be within the filters capacity to absorb. The selection of the correct filter cannister often requires assessment and skill, which is why Unisafe as a manufacturer of respiratory equipment have trained professionals to provide end users technical support in the selection, training, fit testing and maintenance of respiratory protection equipment.
